An active member and matriarch in an interesting community of family and friends, I came to this planet to; build community, speak out loud, advocate on behalf of ADHD students, be a friend to my family and a family to my friends, and to garden. And, my way of generating income is to create new markets in the technology industry. I volunteer where I can to support deserving human and earth friendly actions. I especially love the arts and work to provide technologies to support the expression of ideas through all art practices. My personal practices include; walking tenderly upon the earth, listening rigorously, supporting integrity and staying present. Professional biography: My husband, Craig Burton, and I are independent consultants to technology infrastructure vendors. He is a brilliant technology strategist. I assist him in his work by acting as a sounding board and editor.
I have been developing effective methods to market technologies for over twenty-eight years and designed a unique package of strategic marketing standards for creating new technology markets. I successfully adapt marketing tools like the Internet, conventions, conferences, education and development programs, and industry publications to establish new markets.
Craig and I co-founded The Burton Group (TBG). While there I published two network industry publications: The Burton Group Report, and The Burton Group Analysis Newsletter. I designed and produced The Burton Group Conferences on Network Computing from 1993 through 1996, focusing on identity, directory and security issues.
Prior to founding TBG, I served as senior vice president of corporate communications for Novell, Inc. where I had the great pleasure of observing so many individuals learn, grow and develop their professional lives. During my seven years with Novell, I created and produced NetWorld, the computer industry’s foremost local area networking show and BrainShare, Novell’s developer conference. I also created and launched several computer networking publications, including LAN TIMES, The NetWare Technical Journal, and Selling Red. All of these things were only accomplished through the cooperation and untiring efforts of my co-conspirators and friends in each organization and community. Community Service
I advocate breakthrough education programs for alternate learning methodologies. Craig and I are Life Members of the Sierra Club and support many environmental and human causes. We have established the Craig and Judith Burton Foundation which provides opportunity through expression of ideas and technologies.
